Field Engineering Codes

The field engineering codes (FEC) are used to enable diagnostic or special features of AppLogic.

ALERT! The use of these features is strongly discouraged, as they may change or be removed in subsequent version of AppLogic. Please do not use the field engineering codes unless directed by a 3tera support engineer.

Multiple field engineering codes can be combined by binary-OR between FEC values. FEC values are specified in decimal notation in the user interface property sheets.

Class Field Engineering Codes

Class FEC are specified in the Class Editor property sheet.

1
Enables additional implicit properties in the appliance class, providing mapping between appliance interface names and OS device interface names and IP addresses. This may be useful for certain network infrastructure appliances that need very tight control of their network setup (AppLogic-specific). This FEC is applicable only to simple appliances (not assemblies). This feature limits the ability of AppLogic to assign IP addresses dynamically and may not be supported in future versions.

2
Diagnostic code. Do not use. Applications having appliances with this code will not start.

Instance Field Engineering Codes

Instance FEC are specified in the InstanceSettings property sheet.

1
Enables additional implicit properties in the appliance instance, providing mapping between appliance interface names and OS device interface names and IP addresses. It is applicable only to simple appliances (not assemblies). This feature limits the ability of AppLogic to assign IP addresses dynamically and may not be supported in future versions. When used, this FEC is preferably applied to the class, not to the instance.

2
Diagnostic code. Do not use. Applications having appliances with this code will not start.
