Functional Overview
LUX5 is a generic Linux-based appliance that can be used as a template for making new appliances.
The LUX5 server appliance is designed to be used in two ways:
- As a customized appliance, by branching the LUX5 class to a singleton and modifying the class volume appropriately
- As a template for building other appliances, by using it as a base to create new application-specific or global catalog classes.

If you need GCC and the ability to build software from source on the appliance, consider using the
LINUX5 generic server appliance template instead of LUX.
