Functional Overview
LUX is a generic Linux-based appliance that can be used as a template for making new appliances.
The LUX server appliance is designed to be used in two ways:
- As a customized appliance, by branching the LUX class to a singleton and modifying the class volume appropriately
- As a template for building other appliances, by using it as a base to create new application-specific or global catalog classes.

If you need GCC and the ability to build software from source on the appliance, consider using the
LINUX generic server appliance template instead of LUX.
